Our phrase listing consists of a range of commonly-used onomatopopoeis, to include their multiple meanings. You will fnd commonly-used expressions such a "bori bori" "bata bata", "pera pera", "kun kun", and more. We will also be adding a separate listing that foucses on animal and insect sounds such as "cock-a-doodle-doo" or "kokke kokoo" in Japanese.
Our knowledge section will contain quizzes, flash cards, and other learning tools to help you add to your current knowledege of Japanese onomatopoeias, or perhaps, serve as a review of what you already know. To go one step further, we have included links to articles that are related to the Japanese onomatopoeia and mimetic expressions, or in some cases, the general subject, "onomatopoeia."
